School Improvement is a team of staff and parents from Gladwin Intermediate. There is a representative in each area of the school. Special Education, Title I, Support Staff, Specials Teachers, Grade Level Teachers, Administration, and Parents. This team meets one day month to discuss ways the school can meet National and State Standards in accordance to No Child Left Behind, and Education Yes. The team provides information about student achievement, based on needs assessments, and ability to perform in school. In addition to all the state and national expectations the team discusses issues that occur within the school. For example they may need to discuss playground, curriculum, behavior, school safety, etc. Overall, School Improvement Team is a strategic planning team who compiles, interprets, and presents information to the school, administration, and community.
Every year the team has the opportunity to choose new members. Parents are especially needed on this team to help with input from the community. If you are interested in being a parent team member, please contact Lee Grimes School Improvement Chair, or Joe Cote the building administrator at 989-426-4531.
Thanks you,
