On Sept. 23 from 7-8 p.m. Gladwin High School will be having their grand
re-opening.
Throughout this past summer, construction crews have been completing a
renovation project at the high school. Since 1989 preventative maintenance
had not been done to the high school.
“Thanks to our supporting community, we were able to make necessary repairs
to our building to maintain the infrastructure. You will notice the
tremendous improvement in the overall condition of our building,” said
Gladwin High School Principal Kernie Gilliam. “We have new ceiling tiles and
support system throughout the building. Students now have full size lockers
to keep their books and materials safe.”
According to Gilliam sensor lighting has been installed, window trim, doors,
and walls have been freshly painted. Our cafeteria has acoustical panels
which will make concert and play performances better for the public. In
addition, the lower level of the cafeteria has been raised and restructured
to eliminate water seepage in the spring.
Please join GHS faculty and staff for a tour of the building on Sept. 23.
Refreshments will be served.
